How to Write a Guest Post for the 60 Second Marketer Blog.
If you’re reading this, you’re probably interested in writing a guest blog post for members of the 60 Second Marketer community. We're thrilled you're here.
Here are a few tips to get you going:
85% of our readers from around the globe work at small- to mid-sized businesses with fewer than 500 employees.
Most of our blog posts are mini-tutorials that are “How To” in nature and focus on social media or mobile marketing.
Guest posts run about 450 to 900 words. We only accept original content. Please don't send articles that have already been posted elsewhere.
At the end of your story, the reader should walk away with information that they can put to use immediately. Typically, that means including a number of "action steps" that help the reader implement what they just learned from your post.
Avoid talking about "future paradigms" or "the next strategic wave." Our readers are more practical than that and want to read about new marketing techniques they can put to use today.
Please don't write a post that's essentially an ad for your product or service. Those posts get rejected. (Side Note: If you are interested in advertising to the readers of the 60 Second Marketer e-newsletter, you can contact us for more information about our sponsored email program.)
Use a conversational style in your copy. Imagine you’re talking to a friend over lunch.
The most popular posts tend to provide specific information. "How to Get More Facebook Likes," "9 Ways to Use QR Codes to Generate More Traffic to Your Retail Store" and "How to Write Email Subject Lines that Get Opened Every Time" are good examples.
Other popular posts include case studies of major brands' marketing programs -- just be sure to wrap up those kind of stories with a list of learnings and action steps drawn from the case study.
The bottom line is that people read the 60 Second Marketer blog to find new tools, tips and techniques they can use immediately in their own social media and mobile marketing programs.
Thanks for your interest in providing us a guest post. Here’s what we need from you in order to publish your story:
• Your guest post
• Your name, title and company
• A short, 40-word-ish bio with links back to your site
Thanks again for stopping by. When you're ready to submit a post for consideration, just send it to TheFriendlyPeople@60SecondMarketer.com.
Onward!
