		<description>What I&#039;m afraid of is that the media is making the situation worse with its ongoing doom-and-gloom reporting.

In case anyone is doubtful that the false mantra that &quot;good news doesn&#039;t sell&quot; is the true mindset in newsrooms across the country -  I am a former TV news producer. It&#039;s not that reporters, producers, anchors etc WANT the news to be bad, it&#039;s more of a mindset that they&#039;ve been conditioned to believe. They believe the news HAS to be dramatic - each and every day - or its not NEWS. Drama more than often equals bad news.

So if there&#039;s even a whiff of something bad in a story, they&#039;ll focus on it because they want the attention, and they think that will bring the attention. 

I don&#039;t really know how to solve this problem, except leave the business, which I did.</description>
