Are you interested in following the Olympics from your smartphone? We’ve taken a look at the mobile apps that are available and have zeroed in on five must-have apps.
If you’re in London and want to get a sense of where the crowds are (and aren’t), then you’ll have to check this out. It uses heat mats and video to provide live information on what the crowds are like near each venue.
This is perfect for the person who wants to take a look at some of the best photographs from the Olympics and is interested in key data such as medal totals and Olympic records.
This isn’t our favorite of the bunch, but it is a) an official app linked to the games, and b) provides some of the most up-to-date results available. Worth checking out, especially if you’re a data junkie.
This is the perfect app for people who want to combine their enthusiasm for sports with their enthusiasm for all things social. You can keep up on news, buzz, medal tallies and schedules. Best of all, you can customize it for your particular country.
BuddyTV Guide is a customizable channel guide that makes it easy to create your own personalized TV lineup based on your favorite sporting events. The more you rate and check-in, the better suggestions they serve up for you.
Do you have a favorite Olympic mobile app you’d like to share? If so, let us know about it.
