Thanks for your question. I agree that it would be difficult to be a top influencer for all of LinkedIn. I think you might have been looking at a Group you were in. They have the “top influencers this week” chart in Groups and that would mean you were the top influencer in that Group.

Double check and let us know if that sounds right.

How is the top influencer rank calculated. I hit the #1 rank for top influencers this week. Couldn’t possibly be among all 200 million users. Am I correct in concluding that it’s based on my network and THEIR connections? So I have roughly 500 connections and assume that all my connections also have roughly 500 connections does that mean I was the top influencer out of 250,000 users (500×500) or is there a different metric I should be using?

Good post Leon. It’s the first that I heard to include links to discussions as some group members and even group owners get frustrated when a person includes links onto the group’s discussion post. Most of them will be moved into the promotions tab, and you’ll ended up being blocked from viewing the group. How do you think this would work?
