Special Message for 60 Second Marketer RSS Feed Subscribers

Note: Since I first posted this on Friday afternoon, 60 Second Marketer community member Jessica Kennedy pointed out that Google may simply be shutting down the API function, not the entire Feedburner Platform. I’ve left the post as-is for our blog readers who would still like to take advantage of our e-newsletter.

This is a special notice to members of the 60 Second Marketer community who have subscribed to our RSS Feed in order to have our blog posts delivered to their email in-box each morning. (It does not affect members who have subscribed to our regular e-newsletter, which also comes via email, but comes out 2 to 3 times a week.)

Effective immediately, Google is shutting down their Feedburner platform, which allowed people to receive blog posts every time they were uploaded. People who have subscribed to our e-newsletter will not be affected, but if you receive our blog posts via email each day, you’ll need to subscribe to our e-newsletter in order to continue to stay connected to our blog and our community.

I’m not sure why Google decided to shut down Feedburner, but the solution is simple — just subscribe to our e-newsletter and you’ll receive our blog posts (plus bonus content) via email 2 to 3 times each week.

Thanks!

For a small blog just getting started, what would be an alternative to Feedburner to get our blog posts sent out to readers?

    Hi, Cindy –

Great question. Here’s a post called “7 Alternatives to Feedburner” that looks like a good, well-researched post. http://is.gd/hAkS9C

By the way, I updated this post to point out that Google is actually just shutting down the API function, not the entire site. So for the foreseeable future, you can use Feedburner, but you might also want to explore the options mentioned in the link above.

    Thanks!
