Not long ago, I had the opportunity to sit down with Greg Hickman, the founder of Mobile Marketing Engine, which is a mobile marketing firm for retailers and other businesses. Greg has a ton of real world, front-line experience in how to use mobile to drive traffic to retail stores.

He started out in 2005 doing mobile for a variety of companies, and ultimately kicked into the big time at Cabela’s and other large retailers.

We cover a lot of ground in the interview, but here are a few nuggets to get you started:

  • Tracking is a Challenge: If you’re an agency and you run a mobile marketing campaign, it’s often difficult to track the results of your campaign all the way down to the cash register. Greg has a point-of-view on this that he covers in this week’s podcast.
  • Mobile Touches Many Aspects of the Company: Because mobile covers so many touchpionts, corporations need to create a cross-functional team that spans all aspects of the business. It’s a challenge to do in big companies, but a necessity nonetheless.
  • Mobile Check-Out Experience: The mobile check-out experience is critical to the success of any mobile commerce site. There are nuances to that experience that are important whether you’re an e-commerce site or a regular retailer. Check out what Greg has to say about that in the podcast below.

In addition to the information shared by Greg, we also have a special segment from Ludwina Dortovick who runs the SwitchedOn podcast out of Australia. Ludwina discusses a new technology that can help businesses of all sizes grow their sales and revenues.
