26 Very Pinteresting Stats [INFOGRAPHIC]

You probably knew that the vast majority of Pinterest users are women. You may have even known that about 60% of users are US-based. But did you know that Pinterest shoppers spend an average of $140-180 per online order? Or that 35% of unique Pinterest visitors are mobile-only users?

This telling infographic from DashBurst brings us 26 aptly-named “Pinteresting stats” that are very interesting indeed. Here are just a few more highlights from the graphic:

  • Pinterest has never overhauled its code base.
  • Nordstrom is the brand with the most Pinterest followers, whereas Joy Cho (creator of Oh Joy!, a popular design and lifestyle blog) is the user with the most followers (almost 3x what Nordstrom has).
  • Pinterest is ranked 49th in terms of most visits on the entire Internet.
  • The most re-pinned pin is a recipe for Cheesy Garlic Bread — YUM!

  • Honestly, Pinterest is a social medium I've kind of dismissed - until now anyway. I'm helping a group of graduating "spiritual life coaches" establish their online presence - create/enhance their websites, integrate social media, promote their new businesses. How much of an impact do you believe a tool like Pinterest could have on business owners in this kind of service market?

    • Hi Tim --

It's interesting that you're helping a group of spiritual life coaches. My agency (60 Second Communications) is helping the Isha Foundation build awareness of Sadhguru who is an India guru. (If you don't know Sadhguru, Google him. I've really enjoyed getting to know his philosophy and techniques.)

In answer to your question -- yes, I think Pinterest would be a very useful tool for your coaches. Facebook would come first and Pinterest and/or Twitter would come next.

      Good luck!

      • Hey, thanks for the quick reply Jamie! I'm finding Facebook isn't a problem for them, as they all pretty much use FB for personal networking. However, moving beyond that to commit to providing frequent content updates to blogs, Twitter, etc... well, that's a harder sell to many. But, I'll get them there eventually.

    • Hi Juan --

Good to hear from you. A quick glance at Social-Networking leads me to believe that it's a reasonably well-run site, but I only glanced at it, so I can't tell for sure. I wasn't familiar with them beforehand, so this was my first time to see the site. It looks like they're doing the best they can do, but that doesn't mean the statistics are 100% accurate.

      I hope that helps!

      Cheers,
      Jamie

      • Hi Jamie,

I got to http://findthebest.com looking for consistent stats about as many social media as possible. But they don't have the Google+ stats I needed, so I had to re-start my research from scratch.

So, I'm glad to have this new source of information.

        Thanks a lot :)
