Over the past few months, I’ve written regularly about the power of branding. I talk about how the Geek Squad took some risks with their brand that paid off handsomely in a blog post entitled How to Differentiate Your Brand by Taking Calculated Risks. I also discussed the Donald Trump brand in a post featuring my CNN interview on the subject.
Recently, CNN asked me to stop by again, not to discuss the Donald Trump brand, but to discuss the Oprah Winfrey brand. As you’ve heard by now, Ms. Winfrey invested in Weight Watchers and helped double the value of the stock in a matter of a few hours.
What is it about the Oprah Winfrey brand that makes it so powerful?
That’s the question I answered for CNN International in an interview with Richard Quest.
There are two qualities to the Oprah Winfrey brand that make it unique. The first is the fact that she comes across as an extremely genuine person. The second is that she represents what many people aspire to be — a humanitarian, a successful business owner, a philanthropist, and your favorite aunt — all rolled up into one.
Interested in learning more about the Oprah brand and how you can leverage some of her techniques for your own business? If so, check out my interview on CNN International below.

Excellent approach Jamie! Oprah Winfrey is certainly a unique person, but after all everyone is. I think that what is important is to feedback the uniqueness of each individual withing his/her life purpose (in the form of a vision) and in his/her brand to produce an authentic outcome many people want to look upon (as a raw model). I think branding has so much to do with leadership and fulfilling your life goals rather than marketing! And it needs a lot of personal work. Thank you for your excellent points, Jamie!
I like what you're saying here, Takis. Great points. Thanks for sharing!
You are welcome Jamie!

Brilliant commentary Jamie. Both Oprah and WW have some skin in the game - It will be interesting to watch how this plays out!
Thanks, Elizabeth! Much appreciated.
