You may already know that participation on social media sites skews to the under 40 crowd. You may also know that — surprisingly — the fastest-growing segment in social media usage is the 65+ crowd. But you may not know how social media sites compare to one another based on age distribution.
The infographic below, prepared by Pingdom.com, is based on data from Google Ad Planner and provides some good insights into the age segments for each of 19 different social media sites. It should give you a sense of how each of the sites differs in terms of their users. It’s also worth noting that the data has been sorted with the youngest users at the top.
